Hi all,
Anyone here been accepted into the UTEP FNP program? I've applied for Spring 2013, and was just curious if they had an interview, and how soon after applying were you notified of acceptance?
Their website says review/interviews in Sept/Oct for Spring and Feb/March for Fall, with acceptance notifications in November/April respectively. However, a friend doing the Pediatric NP told me they don't do interviews for the FNP program. He also had his interview in September and was notified at the end of the interview that he was in, so obviously there's some deviation from what's posted.
Anyone out there that can enlighten me on their FNP admission experience with UTEP? Thank you.
I too received my preliminary acceptance. Sounds like we are in. I can't imagine the graduate school shooting down the recommendation of the school of nursing when they defer to them for the actual vetting process. Sounds like more of a formality.
The e-mail ends "It's a pleasure to welcome you (although unofficially!) to our program!"
Congrats to everyone else accepted.

I recieved my Prelim acceptance as well! Riburn3, I agree with you, it seems like a formality, I dont think the Grad School will "disapprove" anyone so we are good! Congrats everyone! See ya'll on orientation dates!
Wow it sounds like they were on top of their interview process this year. Last year they didn't even do interviews until Thanksgiving week and we didn't find out until the first and second weeks of December. Glad to hear the process has been a little more streamlined. Congrats on getting in, after my first year I've enjoyed the program and the balance it provides allowing me to work and learn without feeling too stressed out. Cheers!
