UTEP FNP Summer/Fall 2013 notifications

Hi all! Has any one else who applied for UT El Paso Family Nurse practitioner program starting this summer/fall heard anything about notifications?? The website says they'd send out notifications the first week of April and I've still heard nothing. I've called and emailed the school with no response back. Getting very peeved :devil: Anybody got info???

Cool. Have you been able to register or have they been able to register for you yet? I haven't had any luck with that.

I also was accepted for Spring, 2014. I'll be at the orientation in January as well. Is anyone else having trouble finding preceptors?

Haven't had any luck with finding out if I'm registered either.

I had a difficult time finding preceptors also. Its awkward to ask a someone if they can precept you a whole year or year and half from now. I had to call multiple clinics because I wasn't having any luck. People wouldn't return my calls or some people outright said no. Just be persistent and explain that its this program's policy that you have potential preceptors in place before starting. I was able to get all of them but 1 seemed kinda iffy. I think I read in someone else's post, they started last year, that a good number of people in his orientation didn't have all 4 preceptors. Also, try going to texasnp.org and sign up as a student member. It'll give you access to preceptors in your area or nearby who have signed up as preceptors. I found only 1 on there but it was helpful anyway. Hope that helps, good luck to you, Rabbit.

Oh, and I haven't been able to register either, who knows whats going on with that. They did send an email awhile back saying the administrative assistant would register us for classes because of technical issues with Goldmine. Hope it happens soon, classes are less than a month away.

I was accepted and am starting this month too. I'll be at orientation with the rest of y'all. Has anyone been able to finalize their financial aide info? I've been going back and forth with the Fin Aide office and still haven't been able to accept any awards or anything. Getting worried since school starts in a couple weeks.

Hi I'm planning on applying for the FNP and start in Spring 2015, but what is the interview about? What type of questions do they ask you? I have a friend that she said she was denied because she has been a nurse only 3 years, I have been a nurse for 4 1/2 years, what nursing experience(years, departments) do you have?

Hi does anyone know about UTEP acute care nurse practitioner program. I wanted to know if they still have the designated clinical sites to precept for acute care NP students and if you are required to find rest of preceptors before the program start. What are they are start dates and deadlines for application? Tuition & fees etc.

Any info will be appreciated.

I also have applied for the program for the spring 2017 semester. I haven't heard anything back yet. I was also wondering about the interview questions if anyone has any advise please PM me I would greatly appreciate it.
