Uta rn-bsn{campus based} fall 2014

Published

Hi everyone,

Tried searching here for a thread with the above topic but couldn't find one, therefore decided to see if there is anyone out there that applied or will apply in the future/ past students- campus based for comments/ concerns/advices...etc.

Congrats! Did you attend the traditional program or the rn-bsn one? I assume that you were in the rn-bsn program. How does the admission process look like? Is it competitive? Sorry for shooting you so many questions at once. I really wanna know more about it:)

Haha that's okay! I was not in RN-BSN, so I can't speak to that program much.

However, I know the traditional BSN program is very very tough to get into. We noticed that if you took your pre-reqs at UTA they really favored you. I also have a previous bachelors and I know that helped me get in as well.

Good luck!'

Thanks all the same! Good to know about these as well!

Greenday,

I started the program in October of 2013, it is now May 16 and I will be finished by the end of this year. First you are accepted into the University, I believe you have to have a GPA above2.0, after being accepted your application is sent to the Nursing department where they look at your records. You must have a nursing GPA of 2.5 min or they will not accept you. I was riddled with anxiety and they did not respond quickly. if you are sure you want to go there start taking gen ed courses, it may show them you are serious. I must say the program is competitive, some of my friends made it others did not. Good Luck

Thank you for your reply!

If you don't mind, could I ask what your or your friends' GPA were when you applied? You could just give me a range, because I looked up their traditional program before and they have pretty much the same criteria but their actual average were 3.6 and up. And how many students are in your class?

Sorry for bothering you about all these question!

No problem on the questions, I didn't find out about this website until after I got accepted, so I know how nerve wrecking it is. When I applied my general education GPA was 3.3 and my Nursing was 3.5. They are allowed to take 300 students for each class, all students don't go full-time or even part-time. So I am unsure how they calculated this. I directly asked my counselor this question. He said they have enrollment a few times a years to the actual Nursing RN-BSN program, if you meet the requirements they will tentatively admit you as a nursing student in academic partnerships, if you are accepted to the University you can start on the Gen ED pre-requisites. When the next nursing courses begin you will be able to start class N3645. A friend told me to do this and it worked, my friends who did not start gen ed classes had higher GPA's were waitlisted. Feel free to ask me anything Greenday, have a wonderful time today

Hello LittleBlue! Thanks a lot for your information! It really gives me a clearer picture for the program now. I have the exact nerve-wrecking feeling like you did when getting into something have no clue at all. Now welcome to this site? Many of nurses or nurses-to-be are very friendly and helpful just like you?

Have a nice day!
