Quizzes are weekly, and they only cover one chapter of that's week readings. I liked this opposed to other course quizzes that are over several chapters. He also allows you to drop a case study and a quiz grade. This came in handy when I was ill and unable to finish a case study in time.
I started last fall on a full-time plan. I have seen other programs mention Facebook groups or other sources to connect with fellow students. Do you know of any? I like most parts of online learning, but the absence of classmate interaction is not one of them.
I thought the class was horrible. While I know that the content is hard, as it should be, I felt that he did little to no guidance. I asked for help and got told "its graduate school, its supposed to be hard." I will say that he curves the test and the quizes. I had 30 points added to each test that I took. I do believe that around 1/3 of the class dropped. I think that a lot of the problem is the book that he picked. It is horrible and is not reader friendly. He also doesn't lecture. He links you tube videos from other people. All of this test/quizes are based on the cellular level. There is a facebook group that is private if you search for UTA.

Oh boy. Now I'm nervous.
Do not get freaked out until you start and get a feel for how you do with this material. We all have different learning styles. Some people breezed through the research classes, and I could just not seem to grasp some of the concepts like I did with Patho.
As annie_rn said, he is very generous with grade curving. This is in opposition to Pharm that I just finished that was not curved at all and very difficult material.

Has anyone taken the online Patho class? How was it? I start it in May and would like some info.
