Hi,
I have been an ICU RN for 7 years and also have my CCRN certification. I'm applying for the Fall 2020 AGACNP program through UTA and was wondering if anyone out there had any experience with the program? Or if there is anyone else who will be starting the program in the Fall as well? I look forward to hearing words of encouragement and/or excitement from other RN's out there.
I was wondering if any current students can give me some insight into how the proctored exams work? Does the instructor provide a focused study guide? Some of the course topics like Patho or Pharm are very broad and I'm sure the books are physically impossible to read from cover to cover. I am generally a good test taker but it always helps to know exactly where to focus my efforts when studying.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Anyone else waiting for their acceptance letter to start in November??

Hi Becky, I can help you about explaining how proctored exams work. In the Case of UTA, the university uses a Canvas system that allows you to easily access online classes and assignment. Proctored exams further requires a lockdown browser, one that blocks opening of other web pages or programs in your computer while doing exams. A camera too is required to enable your instructor monitor you while taking exams, no cheating whatsoever is possible in such an environment. Online classes are better since you can work during the day and complete your assignments after work.
Thank you. Do the teachers generally provide any kind of study guides or reference material or have you found that the exam questions come from the lectures? Do they expect us to really read the chapters in their entirety? What have you found the most helpful in studying for the exams?
Questions majorly come from the study materials provided.. Especially the end of chapter questions. It's kinda a repetition. Sometimes lecturer notes do matter a lot. Don't worry my dear, you will make it through. In case you need any help...feel free to reach out to some of us who are ready to be of your service.
Thank you so much for the encouraging words. As you can tell, I'm a bit nervous. I know I'll make it but some of the courses cover such a cast amount of information it all just feels a bit overwhelming to think about. I know there are many who have survived and are very supportive. I truly appreciate it.

Hi Becky, I will be attending UTA starting November 2nd also for the AGACNP track. I just registered for my first class.
I'm so happy to find another UTA student here also starting in November?
Hi Marie,
Where are you from? I live in Florida. I'm still waiting on my acceptance letter. I have also applied to USF's hybrid program for AGACNP so I am eagerly waiting.

Hello. May I ask about your experience at UTA? I'm set to start this May for the AG-ACNP program as well. Thank you!
