Hey guys! I am looking in to applying to the UT Tyler accelerated nursing program. How many hours of my pre reqs do I have to have completed? For example Texas A&M only requires 38 of the 59 hours completed to apply for the program, and the UT Health Science Center Houston only needs 40 hours of the 60 pre reqs completed.

I have been trying to get in contact with the someone but they don't seem to answer, so if you guys can tell me how many hours of your pre reqs you finished before applying that would be great!

Does anyone who is starting the accelerated program this spring know if we will have a white coat ceremony? I know a lot of nursing schools have this ceremony but some don't, so I was just wondering :-)

I have no idea about that. i am sure if there was anything like that, it would have been mentioned in the "orientation" confirmation information ( which will be held on 14th january as you know). Someone i knew already in the program didnt mention that to me either.

I had 52 hours before applying.

Great question, I still had 8 hours in progress when I applied and I was accepted- A&P II and Chemistry. I would call the program and ask Tammie Cooper. 903.565.5534

Also, my guess is that it depends on how good your grades are on your already completed pre-reqs. If you have all A's then they would likely still consider you, vs if your grades were not as good then you might not get in until you can show your grades improved in the classes still being completed. But that's just speculation.

So, after emailing advisors, I was able to begin taking Pathophysiology and Concepts/Theories and highly encouraged to reapply for the traditonal program this Fall. Does anyone know if that means, in some form or fashion, I have a shot?

If you are taking it now, you will have a higher chance of being taken into the nursing program especially if you pass the classes. People that take both classes are considered first before any other thing. Go ahead with it. All the best

I sure hope so! Thank you @khan10 :)
