UT Tyler nursing spring

Published

Am applying to UT tyler nursing program for spring 2015. Anyone else applying? Feel free to post comments.

I'm 45 (double sigh!!) LW, you and I can reminisce about our remote control days! We can also talk about parachute pants and Members Only jackets! LOL! I'm a mom of 2 boys (ages 9 and 10).

41 here... (sigh)... I *knew* that I'd have ya'll beat! I still remember 8-tracks! And for most of my childhood my brother and I WERE the television remotes!

Lol we had 8 tracks.. and a little tv on top of a big tv (that didn't work) I was the remote for the TV and rabbit ears.. hahah

Ahhhh, wow! Ya have me beat, 2sons! I thought *for sure* I'd be the eldest! I will tell you all about my rat tail and baggy pants... thank the lord that I wasn't one of those guys that tucked or tightend their jeans at the ankles! Fad or not, I refused to look like that!

I feel much better knowing that I will (hopefully) have a peer/cohort! You and I can inspect each other for those... (cough)... grey hairs showing up on top of our heads! ;)

Regards,

LW

It's the only place I applied so I'm really freaking out lol

Is the only place I applied too. I should apply to more schools. I feel dumb for not thinking right!

I am cracking up.. apparently those "fads" were around awhile.. Also leg warmers and an orificenal of aquanet for the hair..I feel like I'm in the middle of the age groups but relate more with the people who know the "80's" well.. haha

It will be my second degree as well. I live in west Texas and am relocating. I didn't want to take several different entrance tests and from what I remmeber a few of the junior colleges requires the HESI but I had already taken the TEAS.

Rexjackiec,

Ohhh the 80's! Best rock music evvvvvver! At least many of the young kids still seem to appreciate 80's rock because I still hear it played frequently at local bars and clubs.

Oh jeez, yeah the poofy hair! lmao

Some of the phrases of our time:

NOT!

PSYCH!

LIKE TOTALLY! and FOR SURE! (i.e. Valley Girls "speak")

Michael Jackson and break dancing were the rage. I remember girls with MJ teashirts... they idolized him!

Too funny...

Lmkea I live in west Texas too and did the exact same thing. I really didn't want to take the hesi after already taking the teas! I just wanted to get into a school with the credentials I already had! No sense in paying for a different exam!

Where do you live kmartin?

I'm 27 and it will also be my second degree. UT Tyler was the only place I applied (because it's my only option right now) so really hope I get in. Good to know I'm not the only one going back to school in their late 20s. :)

I live is san angelo

I'm in Odessa. Does anyone know how many students are in the program currently?
