UT Tyler Fall 2021

Published

Hi, Is there anyone applying to UT Tyler for Fall 2021? I did not see any forum so, I made this.

Guys, I am thinking about taking pathophysiology this Summer and apply for fall 2021 program. Do you think I can make it even though the results come late.?? I saw that they give decisions within 4 weeks from the deadline, so I thought I wouldn’t be making it on time. Let me know if other have same concerns too.

I have no idea what they consider competitive, my advisor only told me the changes to the application. I wish she would’ve told me what consider competitive/strong applicants but she didn’t. She only told me that my GPA was good

I was recently accepted for Fall 2021 for the post-master's psych NP Program. Has anyone heard about how doable it will be if continuing to work full-time the majority of the time (of course while not doing clinicals)?

It's doable but it will be tough. I'm a full time PMHNP MSN student and I only worked 2 days a week for my first semester. I'm glad I did because the text heavy classes can be 12 to 15 chapters per test. If you can be part time that would be best. If you're not great a writing or aren't tech savvy that will also slow you down in semester one.

Are you in the post-master's program? Are you already an NP?

I'm not in the post-master's program, just the MSN PMHNP. There aren't many full-time students in the MSN or post-master's because of the three-class requirement. Most other programs I know of only do two classes per semester full-time.

I just applied today and I did take a gap year. I haven’t been in school since Spring 2020 and already taken all of my pre reqs. I did applied for Fall 2020, but didn’t get in. I decided to take a gap year and apply for Fall 2021. I didn’t realize until I went on the application that it didn’t ask for the application video. Then I saw on here that you guys mentioned it’s now GPA and TEAS based only. I took time off to get CNA certified and work in the hospital & at my other job. I thought the video would help me in the program. I have an overall 3.5 GPA, got a B in patho and 70% on TEAS. That would mean I would have to get a higher TEA score. We will see ??‍♀️
