I just applied today and I did take a gap year. I haven’t been in school since Spring 2020 and already taken all of my pre reqs. I did applied for Fall 2020, but didn’t get in. I decided to take a gap year and apply for Fall 2021. I didn’t realize until I went on the application that it didn’t ask for the application video. Then I saw on here that you guys mentioned it’s now GPA and TEAS based only. I took time off to get CNA certified and work in the hospital & at my other job. I thought the video would help me in the program. I have an overall 3.5 GPA, got a B in patho and 70% on TEAS. That would mean I would have to get a higher TEA score. We will see ??‍♀️

Well, hopefully I do get in the Spring. I didn’t get in the fall, but ima do better in my TEAS and do better in my video. I really want to get into the one in Tyler because it’s closer to me. If I don’t get into the Spring, ima have to apply to the one in Longview and Tyler in the Summer and try to commute ?

My stats are about the same, but I have taken patho in past Spring and got a B in it. I felt like my video was a bit weak and rushed. I still submitted everything and applied anyways to see if I do still get in or if not, maybe an extra point for reapplying? I didn’t get in, but that’s okay. I will reapply for the Spring. I am taking CNA classes right now and hopefully get a job in the next few months so I describe a bit of my experience and wanting to further my career as a nurse. I just need to improve my TEAS and do a better job in my video. I am also a transfer but did patho at UT Tyler so it’s more competitive to get in. Hopefully I get in the Spring. If not, Summer semester will have to be.

Anyone in the Tyler area... I am currently at TJC finishing my pre-reqs and I am indecsive whether to continue with the BSN route or do ADN route? I know a lot of hospitals are becoming magnet hospitals. If I take the BSN route, I will be 20-25 grand in debt of loans. The reason for the amount is that I was an out of state student and I have lived in Tyler for a year now so I should qualtify for in state tutition. Also, I used to live on campus so that explains why I took out loans. Anyways, I will have debt if I take the BSN route, but if I take the ADN route I will not be in that much debt. I can always to the RN-BSN programs right after ADN. Is BSN route worth it? I heard so much good things about both programs, but the BSN programs seems a better to me. I worked this hard and long to reach go apply for my BSN, and I hate that I am choosing between ADN and BSN. I have a 3.5 gpa on my nursing pre reqs so far, but I am retaking A&P 2 since I got a C in it. I still have to take Chemistry, Nursing Concepts, and Patho. I am taking my TEAs this upcoming July. Should I apply for the TJC ADN program for Spring 2019 or wait till Spring to apply for the Fall programs for both UT Tyler and TJC? I honestly don't know what to do because I want to have a hard time looking for a job after graduating from nursing school. I have plans on going back to California with my family and I want to be able to land on a good job.
