Hi all! I have been searching for a board for UTSW Winter 2016 Residency and have not found one so hopefully I'm not duplicating the topic. Has anyone applied and heard about interviews? I applied but I don't have any idea of when interviews will take place. I plan to investigate with HR tomorrow but thought I'd ask here as well.
Hi everyone, I interviewed for the oncology unit today. I suggest that if you get an interview you really prepare yourself and practice your answers. I interviewed for a different hospital about a month ago and it was shorter and a lot more laid back than the one at UTSW, so I don't think I prepared myself as well as I should because I was expecting the same thing. Now, I'm just waiting to hear back. I hope I hear back soon. Good luck everyone!
congrats! i hope you hear back too! I practiced for a previous interview that I found somewhat difficult. I felt prepared for all of the behavioral type questions but there was a patient scenario where you had to say what you would do at each step that I couldn't really prep for. are you able to say what types of questions you would suggest we practice?
I had an interview for the critical care position earlier this week. I believe they were interviewing for this position from November 2nd through the 4th and they would be making offers later in the week.
As far as how to prepare: I would focus on behavior type questions. There are little clinical questions but be prepared to explain patients you cared for including the interventions you implemented. All three employees I met with were extremely professional and a pleasure to be around; it solidified my desire to join this hospital staff that much more.
Has anyone else interviewed for this / received an offer yet?
MissVintageGlam, I would practice answering questions and know the organization. If you go to their website they should have their mission statement and values. It might be possible that you can relate your answers to some of their questions based on this. One that comes to mind is when they ask why you want to work there. Just as NurseNewby said, a lot of the questions are going to be behavioral because as new grads, we don't have much clinical experience. I included a link with some information I found useful in preparing for interviews. I cannot reiterate how much it helps to do mock interviews...just practice, so you feel comfortable. Good luck!!!

Wow that's a little upsetting. Well at least there is hope of getting a call and I'm sure it will be an honor to work with the organization regardless.
