I got prep/recovery is that the same unit for you?

Hey I just got an interview in prep/recovery for the fall residency! Do you have any interview tips or anything important for me to consider? 🙂

Hey everyone! This may not be the right thread but I just got an interview for the ED for the fall cohort, does anyone have any interview tips? Or any helpful info? I'm really excited for the interview and would love to be a strong candidate.

I got an interview as well for critical care. Does anyone who interviewed in that area know any questions they asked or how you prepped for the interview? Thank you so much!! I hope yall do great starting this Summer!

Hi! The interview runs longer and has more questions than most, so make sure you have plenty of examples and stories ready to illustrate your answers. They're not just assessing your skills—they're also trying to understand your personality, so expect questions tailored to who you are. Good luck—you've got this!!

Yes! Expect a lot of questions I wanna say they asked like 10 questions so your hour interview gets eaten up, depending how long it takes you to respond. Still, they will always use the leftover time for any questions you have, make sure you bring questions because it looks bad if you don't have any I recommend sending a thank you letter as well it just looks professional. Also its okay to asks for some time to think like if they ask you a question just tell them give me one moment to think about this or u can say it any format like that

Hey, did anyone get interviewed for a PACU position? If so, what did they ask during the interview? I am applying for the October cohort and trying to prepare a little...

Do you know if there are multiple interviews? How does it work for critical care? Is there one panel with all the ICU managers then from there do the managers decide who they want to interview for hire on their specific unit?

How was the interview for you? I am kinda of nervous about the panel and there being a lot of managers at once, especially since it is in person. Are there multiple rounds of interviews or is this the only interview? I only ask because I know there are so many ICU units so, I wonder if we have to conduct another interview with each ICU manager if they are interested.

For critical care it's one interview like your interviewing for all the units not a specific ICU like your not gonna interview for neuro ICU or medical ICU it's one interview for all the ICU positions there is one panel usually 3-4 people on the team meeting and I believe the notes they take gets reviewed by each ICU unit and they pick who they want so yes one interview only no rounds

Ooh perfect thank you so much for the insight! Do you know if every person on the panel asked you 1-2 questions or is like someone leading the questions and all of them are just observing the answers? Also do you remember any specific questions they may have asked?

Yes they all take turns like I had 3 people so each of them go in order asking questions and then they'll write down any notes and usually there's like a pause until the next question kinda awkward waiting for the next question but just keep smiling for the ICU I didn't interview for it but I have 2 friends who did and got the job but I think they only difference is that they asked scenario questions so I would brush up on symptoms and interventions for common things like stroke,HF,diabetes, sepsis, and shock but other questions were like

The questions were pretty basic ones u find online these are all I could remember

Tell me about yourself

Tell me why u want prep/recovery

Why do u want to be a nurse

Tell me about mistake you made

Tell me what is one of your biggest accomplishments in nursing school

Tell me about a difficult patient

Tell me about a time you had a difficult coworker

Tell me about a time you noticed a change in a patients condition and what u did

And most of them would be like explain what did you do and what did u learn from it
