UT Southwestern Dallas October 2021 Nurse Residency

Hello,

I am creating this thread for anyone applying to UT Southwestern for the Fall nurse residency. 

I submitted an application to the program this week.

I will have interview with ICU next week as well. As I did some research, I will be talking with the Surgical ICU and Neuro ICU managers. I'm shakingggggggg LOL

My. interview is next week Tuesday with the acute care department. I'm nervous .

I suggest you not to think too much about specific things like that. I've been interviewed and getting accepted in multiple places and none of them asked me about clinical knowledge. I recommend practicing behavioral questions because I've been asked a lot and sometimes I got grilled.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of questions did they ask? I have my interview next week and I'm nervous LOL. Hope you get the job ?

They mainly asked the regular questions:

Tell me about yourself

why did you want to be to nurse?

Why UT?

what would you bring to the unit?

why this unit?

Then a BUNCH of behavioral questions like" Tell me about a time...."

Good luck! If you don"t mind me asking unit are you interviewing for?

Hey everyone!

I interviewed for the acute medical track yesterday!  There was a panel of about 6 people in the interview (it was nerve-wracking because I wasn't expecting THAT many people!) but they were very nice.  It was mostly the exact same behavioral questions that Miah2045 mentioned above. 

Now we wait ?  hoping to hear from them soon!

Just had my critical care interview done. Did anyone ask when we should hear back from them?

They said they had interviews till next week and we should hear back after that .
