I was wondering if you received the FOCUS letter and who has signed up for it. I signed up for it.....hope to see some of you there.

What is CANDO?

CANDO is an optional month long activity in June where students can learn to be better prepared for the program this fall. I kind of see it as an internship. It's during the month of June (5-28) Tu-Th, and in the end the participants receive a stipend of $250. However, they only choose 7 students each from UT, TWU, and PV and are chosen from certain criteria such as financial need, minorities, first generation college student, etc.

Thank You. Now I remember getting a letter about that. Thanks for refreshing my memory. It sounds interesting; however, I'll be in a class at that time. I hope you enjoy it.

I guess not everyone got letters about FOCUS? I did get a letter about CANDO, but I don't remember getting anything about FOCUS. Kim, when did you get your letter about FOCUS? Also, has anyone heard anything from the school about important dates, orientation etc?

I would think everyone would get a letter about FOCUS because attached to it was another letter about important dates.

It said that registration packets would be sent out early july with registration being mid july and a mandatory orientation the friday before school starts.

hmm i haven't gotten a list of important dates either... so i guess this FOCUS paper went out recently? hmm i'm kinda worried now! Has anyone else not gotten the letter? :uhoh21: :uhoh21:

I haven't gotten the letter yet either. I think its because my final transcript has not yet arrived at UT houston. I did get a CANDO letter though.

I am signed up for CANDO and FOCUS! CANDO starts on June 5 so I am starting really early! Woo hoo!
