UT Houston Accelerated RN-BSN?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I graduated with my RN here in Houston and was accepted into UT Health Science Center - Houston RN-BSN program (early decision)

While I know the program isn't identical as UT Arlington (a more commonly discussed program here online i.e. AllNurses, Reddit, etc), I'm not getting much feedback from anywhere else on some inquiries I have.

A lot of info available online discusses traditional Accelerated BSN or normal BSN programs and their course load. What I am curious to hear from any nurses here is how is this or any RN-BSN program across 3 semesters? I'm not afraid of the workload, just anxious to dive in and knock it out.

On the other hand, I was asked today by the Administrative Coordinator if I'd be interested in taking a 2 semester accelerated online program (new to Houston) where it's split 15 and 16 credits, same classes as the 3 semester program and wondering how feasible this is.

Looking for your input having taking a similar program through a UT campus and how feasible (sane?) it would be to attempt the 2 semester accelerated route.

One last thing. Tips on patho?

Thanks in advance

I would like to know this information also, or if you have any information now due to you being in the program; can you please give an update of how the courses workload is? Thanks.

Did you ever find the answer to this? I'm starting the RN-BSN this summer at UTHealth and I am unsure whether I should do the two semester or three semester.

Hi there, did you complete the RN-BSN with UT Houston? I recently graduated with my ADN in December, passed NCLEX and I'm debating on the RN-BSN program with UT Houston. If you did, can you please share how the courses were? Difficult? I'm assuming lots of DB, APA essays and exams?

I saw your post from a couple years back about starting in the RN-BSN program at UT Health Houston.

Did you finish it?
How was it in overall difficulty?
Do you need to go physically to a class in the last semester?
Can you still get all A's while working full time as an RN?
How are the professors, are they helpful, are they harsh when grading papers?

Sorry for all the questions, but if you have a chance, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
