UT Health Pacesetter Summer 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!

I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.

Stats:

HESI Overall: 92.4

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88

Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.41

My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!

I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

i applied for fall just in case because the admissions people are unpredictable :(

Mine updated to denied this evening :( So I just reapplied! I just completed my psych stats and AP 2 lecture courses so hoping those will help me out this next go-around. Best of luck! I'm gonna hop over to the fall 19 page!

Did you get an email or just a portal change?

Hey mine updated to denied yesterday and it was just a portal change with no email.

Do you guys think that we can still be accepted by tomorrow? My portal says under review still... and most of you guys already got an answer.

I haven't gotten an answer yet either. this is nerve wrecking

Honestly don’t know at this point ? maybe a mix of denials and waitlists.

For those who are still waiting, or have been denied, I’m going to post my stats in hopes that it gives y’all a range of what UT accepted. I know I would want to know if there’s something I could have done better.

HESI- 90.8

Overall GPA- 3.4 (but it may have went up before decisions because they forgot to add a few credits).

Pre-requisite GPA- 3.8

Science GPA- 4.0

I have a previous health related degree.

Feel free to add yours!

Portal change no email

New to this forum:

Still no change on my portal, wish we get an answer today ?

do the waitlist people get an email notifying them?

Congratulations to those who got in! Y'all deserve it. ?

I was denied on the portal yesterday, 3/7/19. (Haven't received the email yet).

UTHealth was a long shot for me, because my past transcripts from the first two universities I attended were a hot mess, checkered with lots and lots of Ws and Fs (from weathering abusive relationships, depression, homelessness, transitioning, and fighting to get my immigration status resolved).

It isn't until very recently that my life began stabilizing. I was able to join a community college and started doing well again academically. Here are my stats, in case anyone is curious:

HESI: 98

Nursing GPA: 4.0

Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 2.9

I dont' think I'm going to reapply to UTHealth for the fall, because there isn't anything I could do between now and March 15 that will significantly improve my profile, and I know they receive a robust selection of candidates for the fall.

I'm going to wait to hear back from another BSN program I've applied to, and if I get denied there, then I'm going to look into finishing up a health science bachelors and explore ADN, LVN, and CNA programs.

One way or the other, we're all going to become RNs someday--

Good luck and blessings to you all.
