UT-H BSN program Fall 2006

Published

Who else will be attending the BSN program at UT-Houston starting fall 2006? Can't wait to meet all of you!!!

I live in the Copperfield area over by 290 and Hwy 6. I heard about the Metro Pass and how it's like $25 a semester..soo I think I'm going to get that and take the bus from the I-10 bus stop and take it to the train station and then take the train into the med center. I'm actually a little confused as to how I'm actually going to be getting to school haha. But yeah ya'll are lucky that you live fairly close. Can't wait to meet all of you!

P.S. Do ya'll know what we wear? hehe

If you don't mine me asking what GPA did they accept you at?

Just to address a few things...don't buy books just yet. We were sent an incorrect list last year and some of us had to return a book and get the correct one. Do not buy the gait belt...you'll never use it and you would not want to use it on multiple patients (sanitary reasons). You do not have to wear scrubs to school. The scrubs are only for clinicals and the day you go pick out a patient. Good luck all of you new students...just always remember...There IS a light at the end of the tunnel!!!:monkeydance:

Hi all! I'm currently getting my pre-reqs done at HCC and will be applying soon to UT-H. I'm hoping to get into the one-year Accelerated BSN program starting Summer 2007.

Anyone on here have experience in that program? Are the online classes hard? What kind of hours do you put in every day?

I know I'll have to quit my job to get through that program, but sometimes I worry, because I have a wife and 3 kids. I have great support in my wife (she's already an RN).

I'm also hoping that when I'm applying for financial aid, they consider what I would be earning in school (which is $0.00) and not what I earned up until I quit my job.

Anyways, congratulations and good luck to all of you entering this year! Hope to see you next year!

Not sure about the accelerated program but I do know that they will use the previous year's tax return statements to base financial aid funding. It kinda sucks cuz in my situation they wont consider that I will not be working once school starts this fall- all they see is that I made WAY TOO much money on last year's tax statements.

...but good luck to you
