UT Austin BSN 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone! I noticed there are a few people still posting on UT Austin thread from last year (myself included), so I decided to start a new one here. I am an external transfer hoping to get into the Traditional BSN program in the fall of 2018. I believe my stats and previous experience are competitive, but I know how difficult it is to get into the program :( anyone know when we should hear decisions?

Hey! Has anyone successfully transferred into nursing? If so, would you mind sharing your stats? I am a freshman at a Texas University with a 3.8 GPA, I have taken psychology, pre-cal, bio i, pols i, english comp i, and next semester I will take chem i, bio ii, stats, and cal i. I think I will end up with a 3.9 GPA for the year overall. All of my extracurriculars are at hospitals, nursing homes, a missions trip, and an emergency rescue service. I am going to get a letter of rec from my bio professor who worked at UT for over ten years and he really likes me. I am so nervous, it is my dream to be at UT next fall and major in nursing!

@mursethetics , hey! do you know what probably got him/her in? were their essays good? what about their volunteer experience?

Hi there! I just graduated last month from UT's BSN program. I wasn't a transfer, but if you all have any questions about the program/life in Austin I'd love to help y'all out! Best of luck on y'all's applications!

How was the program, was it fast paced? Are the instructors good? Please say your experience
