Hi @Christiana Nwoko! That’s awesome, I hope you get an interview. I’m applying for PMHNP, this is such a tough waiting period before October 1st and then waiting to see if we get interviews! ?
Hey guys! I am also applying to the LEADs program. I’m just worried my GRE score is too low. Can everyone share their stats? And healthcare experience?
GRE:300 science GPA:3.5 cumulative GPA:3.4
healthcare experience: CNA, mental health technician at a hospital, caregiver, nursing home, PCT. also have done a lot of independent trainings such as LenoxHill Brainintern. And a few programs through John Hopkins. There’s more but that’s a brief synopsis!! I just hope they consider applicants with a holistic approach :(
I don't think you should be worried, I think the average GRE score for most of the programs is 300 and your GPA is great... I plan on applying to AG-CNS and I'm very worried because my GPA isn't that high... ?
Hi guys!
I am also applying to LeaDs, and I also hope that they consider a holistic approach to accepting applicants because my heart is set on the program!
I have a 4.0 prerequisite, 308 GRE and very little healthcare experience because my Summer volunteer set up at the hospital was canceled due to Covid.
Hey y'all! I am a 2020 cohort member and wanted to hop on here and ease some nerves as I'm reflecting on how we felt last year.
As hard as it might be try to not think about it too much. We didn't hear back for interviews until early December and were only given about a weeks notice to interview. For out of state applicants they allowed for virtual interviews and I'm betting with all the COVID restrictions in place virtual interviews may be the route they take this year.
I got my acceptance to the CNS program at the end of January in the first round of acceptances, but one of our members was accepted in early March.
Your GPA, GRE, and experience in the healthcare field do not define whether you will get in or not. Our cohort has a wide variety of experience from very little to being employed in other fields of medicine. UT does take a holistic approach to reviewing applications. What truly matters is how passionate you are about the specialties you are applying and how UT will fit into helping you become the best nurse you can be.
Good luck and Hook 'em!??
