USF MSN CNL non nurse spring 2019

Hey everyone, I was looking for a blog and didn't see one for the next cohort at USF and decided to create one. I think it would be really helpful to be in touch with other students applying. Let's discuss and stay in touch through this process =)

Are there any individuals in your cohort who just finished undergrad? I finished just recently and am worried that they accept more people who are older and have more experience.

I graduated just a couple days before starting. There some that graduated last December. They mix up the cohort really well.

Hi there! I applied too! May I ask how you will be funding this journey? :) I'm having a tough time justifying getting into and accepting a place in this program when there are community colleges that are only 6k for the whole program!

There are Grad PLUS loans available for any additional cost that a student cannot cover. There are also outside/private scholarships that can be applied to. As for justification, you are paying for a masters education. On average, starting salary is usually higher for someone with a Masters degree as opposed to a Bachelors or Associates.

Hi I just wanted to see how everyone is doing!? This forum seems to be less active then the last ones... or am I the only one who notices?

I agree! I think most people are just waiting for their letters to go out before they become more active. It's still early for decisions to go out. They said 8 to 10 weeks!

Right, I was just comparing this forum to the previous ones... the previous ones still seem like there was more activity early on

Thanks for the input. Grad PLUS loans are a good option, but the downfall being the almost 8% interest they come with. Depending on how much you're borrowing, that can drastically change the amount that you have to pay back in your lifetime. I'm thinking I'll be in debt somewhere to the tune of 100K. The pay differences don't seem to be that different and without experience, the degree is less important. I want to be my master's/nursing degree more than anything, but I can't help but to wonder if there's a better way...

Hi everyone! I just joined this forum pretty late - my friend who is in her last semester at USF's ME-MSN program just told me about this! Wish I joined earlier during the application process!

Just wanted to see how everyone is doing while waiting to hear back from the school :-)

Hi Lmp23,

Thank you for the post. I just saw this after creating one a USF feed specifically for the SF campus if you would like to join on it also :)

I was looking for one for the SF campus and didn't see one so I created this one below. I put some info about myself and some questions to start a conversation with future students :)

Hi Rroxoxobr,

I created a separate feed for the SF campus for USFCA if you would like to join :)

Can I submit my application before the letter of recommendations are complete? I have received one confirmation email for one recommender, I am just waiting for my second recommender to complete their part.

I have my Personal Statement and Resume complete. I can submit my application pending the letter. I feel kind of nervous to submit it though, I feel like I want to make more edits, but I don't know what kind lol

Hi rroxoxobr,

I hope this is not too late but your LOR needed to be submitted by the deadline also. I asked the admissions office to confirm when I submitted my application! :) Good luck.

Also, I created a separate feed specifically for the SF campus for Spring 2019 if you want to join. I found this one after not knowing for which campus this was for. I am hoping that both feeds will be used to help others and the one I created specifically for the upcoming cohort at SF location.
