Hi, starting a forum for the University of San Francisco Masters Entry- Masters Of Science in Nursing for the 2021 Fall Cohort. Join the chat, let us know if you've applied, and offer updates.
This is my first time applying to the program, the deadline was January 15th. I will also be applying to Samuel Merritt's ABSN in April, I'm hoping to have heard back from USF by then and not need to apply at all *fingers crossed* . From past forums, the response is usually given around week 10, so that put's it at the last week of March.

To all future students looking to go to USF, specifically pertaining to the OC campus:
I am a current student at the OC campus and I wish someone would have told me not to come here. I can speak on behalf of many students in several cohorts at this campus when I tell you this school is unbelievably disorganized, inattentive, and unequipped to prepare nurses for a career in healthcare. I will most likely become a nurse and pass my NCLEX, but not at all due to this school’s help. This school will teach you nothing. I beg and plead that if you are deciding whether to go to USF-OC or somewhere else, please pick somewhere else. I can’t even begin to explain how saddened our cohorts are with the lackluster education we have received. If anyone has any questions please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I’m sure you’ve dealt with the school’s unresponsiveness when it comes to your questions….that is the same treatment you will get for the two years you are here along with terrible professors (with the exception of a few) who have no idea how to even use zoom, finding your own clinical sites or not having one, no syllabi or course schedules, ....to name a few.
Good luck everyone.
That is such a bummer to hear but thank you for sharing your experience. Hopefully your experience changes for the better!!
Hey Ya'll!!
Congrats to everyone currently being accepted and in the process of getting started. I am also a current student at the OC campus and have to 100% agree with the above post (again, this is specific to OC campus). I was in the position where this school was really my only choice and I felt so incredibly fortunate to have been accepted right away. Let me just say, if you find yourself in the same position and your goal is just to get in and get out then I GET IT. But...just be prepared...
Each cohort has experienced a unique struggle of their own, so it is hard to say what the next cohort will struggle with. But common theme here is extreme disorganization that unfortunately really affects everyone. All cohorts are honestly fighting for a better experience, we hope we can make some changes for the remainder of our time here, as well as for the new cohorts coming in.

100%! I am only waitlisted but this is definitely makes me nervous to reapply. Hoping that the Pc campus can work through some of these issues and grow from the past experiences!

Thank you for your kind words. I hope so too although we've brought up the issue multiple times to multiple levels of authority and nothing has been done so far. If it gets better it is truly just because of the friends I have made. It's really disheartening to see all of our hard work and dedication be disrespected like this. AND not to mention the money.
It is true that every cohort will have different experiences (trust me every cohort has been affected here since its inception), but for how much money you end up paying....this is not it guys. I am truly warning you, if you go here....you will see what I'm saying and you will regret it. Don't believe anyone who tells you you have to put up with this sort of stuff through nursing school. The academics should be the only rigorous part. You shouldn't need to find your own clinical sites! You shouldn't need to teach your professor how to use zoom. You shouldn't have your clinical rotations be cancelled because they can't find anyone to teach them. You shouldn't need to message multiple deans, counselors, and presidents about the schools inability to teach its cohorts. Your professor shouldn't accidentally upload zoom recordings online where you bad mouth students for everyone to see. Your professor should have a course schedule. Your professor should have prepared lectures. The list goes on y'all.
If you want to come here just be prepared for it to be a *** show, study on your own throughout school and for the NCLEX and never be supported by any staff whatsoever along with any other crazy occurences happening that I have mentioned.
Remember, you got here with your blood, sweat and tears. Don't ever let anyone disrespect your hard work and money. Congratulations and good luck for anyone on the journey to bettering your own lives and the lives of others.

I just got accepted into the program after being on the waitlist! I was wondering if those who got accepted could help me with the registration process and could give me access to whatever else groups you guys have created?
thank you! (:
Hello congratulations! I was also accepted off the waitlist last week! I am also interested in joining the facebook group if anyone has the link. What did you need help with? I am still in the process of registering as well.

I was notified the day after they sent their second email so I wouldn’t lose hope just yet!
