Usd (ca) mepn fall 2014 applicants

Published

Hi! I have yet to find any threads on the University of San Diego's MEPN '14 applicants. I submitted on the day of the deadline.... anyone else out there????

I found a nice outfit at Gap and Ross . I can't wait or thursday to come !! So excited! Have you guys been practicing on possible answers to potential interview questions ?

Im excited to meet you too Kaydennis87! Ive been trying to practice Vaguayo, but its making me even more nervous. University of Arizona's website is really helpful for nursing admissions interviews: http://www.career.arizona.edu/docs/interviewing/2012_preparationnursingadmissionsinterviews-pdf.pdf?sfvrsn=2

Great thank you @dokhtarshirazi!! LOL I know what you mean!

One more day!!! :woot: Super excited to meet everyone tomorrow! Yay, can you believe it?? We're that much closer to our dream jobs!

Good luck tomorrow and Friday to everyone that will be there! I am a first year MEPN currently in the program and will be there the next 2 days so I will see you all around! :)

If we have an interview on Friday morning, should we still stay until 3:30? or do we leave after the financial aid orientation?

Well there will also be tours that you can take. I had my interview last time in the early afternoon so I came in the mid morning, went on my tour, went lunch and then had my interview and then went home. Every year seems a bit different (my interviews were different than the previous years) so you will know more tomorrow. :). See everyone that will be there tomorrow!

Does anyone know whether the questions for the interview will be more general (Why nursing? Why USD? What can you bring?) or are they going to get really specific (In this scenario with a patient... what would you do?)? 20 minutes for an interview doesn't seem like that much time!

Hope you all had a great interview experience and best of luck to everyone. If you ever have any additional questions about the program, please don't hesitate to ask.

So now that the interviews are over, how does every feel ? Honestly, I gave it my best and felt good about the whole experience. It only made me more excited to be part of the nursing field . I was very impressed with how invloved and honest the students were and also how friendly the faculty was. The sim lab was aswesome and big ! The person who interviewed me said we will hear back mid March. Best of luck to us all!

When I first came out of my interview, I felt good. But now that I've had time to think (and freak out), there were so many things I didn't have a chance to say. I felt like that 15 minute time limit was hanging over my head the whole time, so now i'm not sure my answers were good enough, even though I was able to answer everything. I cannot wait for March

hi devan, it's aimee. i'm sorry i didn't have a chance to meet with you, although i think i might have seen you when we toured the Sim lab. not sure if you'll remember, i was the tiny Asian girl that came in with the big afternoon group around 2ish. anyway, thank you for all the great help and info. i actually did have a few questions that came up afterward:

1.) at what point do you start working on your master thesis?

2.) do you know of mepn students who were able to purchase meal plans at the dorms? not sure if they do that at usd.

thanks again! hope to see you in the summer if i make it =)
