USAGPAN 2021

Published

This thread is super early but I want to create a spot for USAGPAN 2021 applicants to share our journey! I’m mostly posting this thread now to spread the word about Iowa Central Community College’s Intro to Organic and Biochem online course - CHM 130. This option was a lifesaver (read: time and money saver) for me and I have to pay it forward. I checked with the Baylor liaison and the course fulfills the chemistry requirement. The only prerequisite is Intro to Chemistry I. I hope this helps someone and I’m looking forward to the upcoming application year!

Hey guys- congrats to everyone who got the green light from the Army Board!! I was unfortunately OML’d as well... I’m thinking it was because I only had a year of experience when we submitted my packet but who knows. Fingers crossed that a spot opens up ?

I was selected as well. I look forward to meeting you all next year! Thank you for all the helpful input!

The OML is not very deep, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for ya!

Accepted by the board as well! Apparently I’m pending a couple admin things so I’m not calling everybody just yet.

My recruiter says I’m pending a medical waiver but we can’t guess what that means because I’m PULHES 1 in every category. I guess I got an age waiver to commission so maybe it’s that?

Also something is pending with my security clearance. I had to get my fingerprints redone about a month ago — that’s the only thing I can think of. I already have a secret security clearance so I was told I would not need a reinvestigation.

Do you have any guesses/insight MikeyD?  My recruiter thinks I should be safe and I can go ahead and tell people... Congratulations to everyone who got good news today. Those on the OML, hang in there — we’re all pulling for you!

I’ll go line by line. That makes no sense that you have a medical waiver but your all 1’s.... if it’s an age waiver it would be an age waiver not a medical waiver.

if you already have a security clearance complete they won’t reinvestigate however you still have to have a valid lifescan(fingerprints) and data entry to appease our system. (It’s super inefficient but don’t stress)

it’s very normal to have waivers and things pending. If I recall correctly every person had something on the list, but that’s generally not something applicants need to worry about.

as far as telling folks I would wait until Baylor sends the results later in the week. It would be embarrassing to tell family etc and then find out you actually weren’t selected. Just good to be 100% sure and have that letter. It’s the same for active duty the army approved me but I’m not telling a soul anything until I have a letter ??

@MikeyD you’re the man, thank you so much! I my recruiter must have misspoke about what I have pending regarding any waivers. You have been a gem on this thread, Sir.

Did you do a MEPS physical or MTF?

Is there any other reservists that are in here that got accepted? IE I’ve already done BOLC...

MTF. Been in the Reserve for some time now so have been doing PHAs every year. My commissioning physical in 2018 was done at an MTF as well

Ah I see. MTF physicals are reviewed by the waiver authority just to make sure they abide by the same standards as MEPS so that could be it. (I got to thinking and realized that could be the case for you). It looks the same as a medical waiver in the system.

Congratulations, everyone! I’m rooting for those on the OML to be officially accepted?? Good luck!
