Med-Surg.... I have my eyes on nursing anesthesia! I graduate in May (second degree student) from NYU.

Oh very cool! Well, good luck!

I requested Med-Surg as well...and Elmendorf as our first base assignment!

I just talked to my recruiter and he has submitted 9 applications for southwestern region. 2 for OB and 7 for med surg. He said there are 24 health recruiters in the nation. He's expecting about 200-250 applicants for the NTP program. But once he finds out for sure, he'd let me know.

I have no idea how many my recruiter sent in for med/surg, but she had 2 for OB as well, me and one other person. Did your recruiter say how many-ish that they would accept?! Ahhhh! I'm just ready to hear lol

A recruiter in the northwest region sent in 12 applications for NTP. 9 for med surg and 3 for OB.

Hbaum, he doesn't know any exact numbers yet. But when he finds out, he will let me know. He's been so helpful lately and understands how antsy we all are.

Hahaha mine understands the anxiousness too! It's funny. She laughs at me for it :)

Specializes in ICU, ED, PICC.
56 is the total number of applications from the entire western region :) So 48 between my recruiter and yours! Today is the day they meet!

What areas does your recruiter cover?

Mine has Bakersfield, CA up to the Oregon border and a couple counties in Nevada.

Me and SN2013 have the same recruiter and I received the same email from him last night....he mentioned that there are only 2 other regions (I would guess maybe the other 2 regions are midwest and eastern) besides the western region and that he would estimate around 50 applications for each of the other 2 regions. So, if you add that up it looks like there might be around 150-160 applications total, and with a 30-40% acceptance rate I would guess that they are looking at taking roughly 50-60 people. It's not a lot, but better than last year when they only accepted 25....but these are all estimates and I suppose it could end up being different than he is expecting!! I'm just ready for all the waiting to be over, and REALLY hope that I don't end up having to go through it all again next year!!!!

I was trying to figure out the number of accepted applicants our recruiter was thinking they are taking...I emailed him but haven't heard back yet. It does look like they doubled the number they accepted but it's still not as high as what he originally had heard (120 was the hopeful number). They are estimates though, like you said! The waiting is not fun at all..luckily we start our OB clinical next week!

August 10 is still the projected release date! Let's hope for sooner rather than later!
