I have been accepted into the University of South Alabama's FNP Spring 2022 program. I would love to hear from anyone that has completed the program or is currently enrolled. I work full-time (Mon-Fri, 8-5) and am contemplating between the full-time schedule - 6 semesters or part-time - 9 semesters. Any opinions about working full time and going full time? I plan to work part-time when I start the practicum. Thank you!

Finishing up Dec 2021. It was an OK program. I was tough for me at first but I also has alot of personal issues going on. I had to cut my schedule to 32 hours a week to get in 3 days a week for clinicals. Before clinicals I was working 40-50 hours a week and doing homework. You will have to go to the campus twice, so budget for that.

I'm an alum of the Dual Role ACNP/FNP program. I was able to work full-time until clinicals started. Then I dropped to per diem. As far as working a set part-time schedule: that would be completely dependent on your clinical schedule. For me, I had clinicals every day M-F between family med, OB/Gyn & Peds my first semester. So, I could only work weekends.
I think the clinical hour requirements for the FNP are less per semester than Dual Role, so it may be much more do-able in your track to work part-time.
Best of luck to you ?
