US RN with ADN/ASN degree moving to AUS

Published

I apologize if this has been answered already but I have looked all over the internet and could not find an answer. I am currently enrolled in an associates degree nursing program here in the US. But I am planning on relocating to Australia permanently in the near future. It is my understanding that you need a bachelors degree to work as a registered nurse in Australia? But here in the US you only need an associates degree, so if I were to complete my associates degree and get a few years of work experience here in the US, would I be able to work as a registered nurse in Australia? Or do I need to get a bachelors degree?

I was looking into the same thing but you need to have your BSN first. Im sorry. I was looking to move prior to completing my BSN and my application was declined (even tho I have a BS in Political Science) You have to have a Nursing BSN to move to England or Aussie. Now that I have completed my BSN I will restart the process in Jan 2020

Hi, does anyone know if it must be a 'brick & mortar' BSN ... or will online be accepted? Had read this on another message board but not able to find a source to back it up. Thanks!
