Hello All!

I am a US Nurse looking into moving to London or outside of the London area. Would love to hear about anyone's experience with working in the UK? Any helpful advice? I would love to hear about which hospitals you work at or any hospitals to avoid.

Hello, I'm looking into moving to London as well. I'm an American trained RN.

I’m a UK nurse and now in US. What is your main motivation to work in UK as a nurse? Pay wise, you will earn less in UK, high tax rate and high cost of living in London area. The great thing is, you will get free hospitalisation, I get 40 days annual leave and 1 year sick leave/maternity leave.

Hi @sylviamae,

My motivation to work in the UK is a great travel experience and because I am dating someone in the UK at the moment. Pay is not really the motivation but more just an amazing experience. What have been some of the differences you have noticed while being in the US? Any helpful tips? Any areas to live that are cheaper to live and then commute into London? Any particular hospitals in the London area that have great reputations. I have been doing a lot of research but it is always nice to get an insiders opinion.

If someone can give me some guidance I would truly appreciate it. I’m a US nurse looking to relocate to the UK. Can someone email me and help [email protected]. Thanks in advance!

Hey @ginezrn

Some of the most responsive agencies have been the ones I found on Linkedin. It depends on which area of the UK you want to work in as well. The best thing to do it put your resume out there and see who bites. You can also directly apply to any hospitals you want to work in as well.
