I have my four year business degree but my jobs keep me traveling all the time. I'm looking for something more stable and I'm a fan of the Philippines; So why not get my nursing degree there? Anyone have any suggestions? Is it cheaper then the US? Can I get financial aid from the US to study there? How about grants? Thanks Sean

There are already a few threads about training in the Philippines as a foreign student and generally I would say not recommended. You will not qualify for financial aid from the US and I doubt there will be any grants. As a International student I think it will be expensive but not sure if cheaper than the US. You also need to be aware that when trained outside the US when applying for license in the US you will always have to meet requirements of BON for foreign trained nurse
Thanks for that. Time to search elsewhere then. I just want to get out of the states for awhile and go somewhere cheap to study.

Why do you want to take up nursing anyway? You want to stay in one place, there are alot of courses to choose from. Why Nursing? Honestly speaking, the Philippines is already producing more and more nurses every 6 months. Though not sure with the tuition in US, I know some people students who prefers to study here and go to US after graduation because they said its cheaper to study nursing here. If so happen you graduated nursing here and wants to go back to your home, just make sure you meet all the requirements on the state you want to practice nursing. You can read some of the forums here regarding the Nursing siatuation here in the Philippines. I'm not discouraging you. I want you to see the positive and negative sides. Then you choose. Cheers!

yes education is cheaper here in the philippines. i suggest you look for a school with a high passing rate. it is in the passing rate where the training of the school is reflected. God bless!
