US ADN RN to Canadian RPN?

I'm a Canadian Citizen working in a Level II trauma center in the capacity of RN in Michigan. I completed an ADN here in the US.

Just doing some research to see what my employment options would be if i decided to return to Canada, specifically Ontario.

I already sent an email to the CNO but wanted to check in here to see if anyone had any personal experience. Would I be able to gain licensure as an RPN in Ontario with my ADN education and work experience?

I am planning to do an RN-BSN bridge this year but won't be done until the end of the year. I'm hoping that the political and social climate in the US doesn't decline to the point where I have to leave the US, but I would like to have my bases covered.

You need to have your education assessed by NNAS before applying to CNO and ADN education will not be deemed comparable to a Canadian BSN. You are only allowed to apply once to NNAS, if you hope is to be licensed as a RN you should obtain your BSN first before applying to NNAS. There are a few posters who are Canadians and in situations similar to yours, use the search tool in the top right hand corner and search for the thread entitled 'NNAS experience'.

If the situation deteriorates and you do not have time to finish the BSN,it is possible that your ADN may be equivalent to a Canadian PN education, it depends on whether your school provides enough information to show you covered the PN entry to practice competencies.
