I was wondering whats the right answer to this question..

when doing urinary bladder irrigation should the nurse get the same amount, more than, less than after?

if you mean in a turp transurethral resection of the prostate... you would end up getting more fluid back but you would have to subtract the irrigated fluid to find out the true urinary output

More than to include any blood and urine output.

well just with a normal cath pretty much i came about it on my last exam and i didnt know what it was i picked more than just because you get back some urine but my friends were saying no its the same amount same amount

Sounds like you thought this through and should get it right on the test.

well, just think about it. it's always best to know WHY you are doing something. So why do you perform a bladder irrigation? How do you know if what you are doing is effective?
