Hey Dear colleagues:

I do not blame you for being confused given that everyone responds to the 5 year question with some leadership ambitions. If your colleagues are correct, then the interviewer is insecure and probably won't be your boss (or anyone's for that matter) for very long. In any case, to be on the safe side, give an answer that is neutral (neither ambitious or lazy)...

A huge thank you for your reply dear MBARNBSN:up: I like it so much and definitely will consider it.

I have a different opinion than MBARNBSN (we usually agree!). I would be open and honest about your ambitions but also show a bit of humility in the process. Maybe something like "well I want to start my career in this position, but I think I would like to continue to grow in leadership and possibly take on more responsibility". This lets them know that you are interested in growing but not set on being a "CEO". When someone interviews for a entry level leadership position and they tell me they want to be a director or "O" level executive it doesn't really leave a good impression...not because I am afraid of you being my boss but because you are pulling the cart before the horse. Hope this helps!

Dear jrt4: Great Thanks for your GREAT opinion. Furtountaly I pass the interview successfuly and waiting for the final result. I am writing down my colleagues experience and mine as well for the next colleagues who will apply for the same position or similar one in future. I am adding the stance of both of you.
