This link should explain about the student visa but if you are on a student visa there is usually requirements on how many hours you can work especially during term time http://www.immi.gov.au/students/students/chooser/index.htm

You are very restricted as to working when there on a student visa. There are significant requirements that need to be met. And no more than 20 hours per week as you are expected to attend school full-time.

Your spouse is not normally permitted to work when you are there on the student visa.

Thanks for replying.

But my question is . will i be able to get PR only after one year of post NM study as i m told here?????????

The government in Australia will need to review your credentials; it is never any guarantee for anyone that they will automatically receive landed immigrant status.

This is what we are trying to explain to you. Best bet would be to contact the Australian Consulate where you are and speak with them directly.
