new grad, may have a urgent care/walk-i/ after hours clinic offer. Wonder how much I need to know about splint/casting (do they usually train provider to do that or x-ray tech or MA, nurse) and how good I need to be at suture and other procedures?Any resources recommend? I really like this specialty and it would be a good match for my current life Any advice? Thank you!

If you're ordering the splinting, which I assure you you'll do frequently, you darn well need to know what it should look like and how it should wear. Suture, I&D, staple, glue, dental aches and abscesses, foreign body in eye removal, nasal packing, other ENT procedures, we used slit lamps in our UC Ctr, thrombosed hemmrohoids... Yeah, you're going to do handsy stuff. There are plenty of workshops to learn it.
Thank you, l found one workshop and YouTube helps too, any good training or workshop to recommend?

I work in an ED annex which used to be urgent care and usually the techs do splints and casts here!
Doesn't matter who does it. You are the ordering provider. Know how it works.
