Hi everyone. I plan on going to nursing school in the fall and I just want to know a little something about it. I would like to know what kind of nurse you are, how long it took you to get your title, and if you don't mind i would like to know how much it cost you. If you went through financial aid, I would llike to know what kind. If you would like to tell me anything else please do. i need all the information I can get right now.

I am in LPN school right now.
When completed, it will have taken 2 years including prereqs and downtime. The cost has been about $700 per quarter, $500 per quarter of which was paid by the State in the form of a Hope scholarship. The last year of school, I qualified for Pell Grants, which reduced my out-of-pocket to $0 per quarter - however, having to reduce my working hours has been a strain on the family finances.
Best of luck to you!

I'm an RN-BSN. I went to a 4-yr University and it took me exactly 4 yrs, with a pretty heavy load. I now an a float RN at my hospital. I was only a CNA for a few months during school and I would highly recommend it, even if it is just for a little while. Being a float RN was nice to see all the different areas of nursing in the hospital, but it's difficult because there is a ton of information to learn. Total it cost me for tuition only about $22,000 of tuition and books with $12,000 being the loans.I took out student loans my last year and a half becasue the hospital I was going to work at offered tuition reiumbursement, so I signed a three year contract and they basically paid off my loan. GOOD LUCK!!
