Hi all,
I couldn't find a thread for the UPenn BSN/MSN 2016 summer applicants, so I decided to start one. I think it will be a great way for us to connect and support each other.
Is anyone else on here currently applying?
Best of luck.
Hi all! I am also eagerly awaiting hearing back from UPenn :) I've been interviewing at various schools and am trying to compile differences between all of these programs. Does anyone happen to know what the drop-out/attrition rate is for those in the foundation year? Does anyone also happen to know what the protocol is for students who perform poorly in a course -- do they have to step out of the program for a time or they able to continue with courses and simply re-take the one they did poorly in?
How is everyone feeling today?!? This waiting game is rough!
FutureNPisMe, from what I remember from the orientation over 90% of people who start the program finish it. I got the impression that there is an enormous amount of support available if students need or want it - one of the many things I love about PENN :)
blueandgold1919, what program did you apply for?
Would anyone care to share their stats/interview experiences? I applied to the midwifery program with bachelors degrees in political science and criminal justice & a minor in women's studies, 3.95 overall GPA, 4.0 prereq GPA, about 3,000 healthcare hours - mostly from work as a live-in caregiver, 5 months of volunteer work in the outpatient surgery unit at a local hospital, doula training and certification, one year of on-call volunteer doula work and The Farm's midwifery assistant training and certification. I now own my own photography company. I was rejected at UCSF and Yale before interviewing, but felt AMAZING about UPENN and thought my interview went pretty well considering how nervous I was! Anyone else in a similar boat?
ahopefulNP, I'm confident we'll know by Friday! I feel like if the deadline was still between the 2-10, the person ignisviridae spoke with would have confirmed that when she called in last week. Instead he mentioned notifications being posted "at some time this week" without mentioning a date.
*fingers crossed*

Another applicant posted on here that she called the admissions office last and was told decisions would be released this week. PENN did not specify a date.
