I was recently accepted to USF's ABSN program (FL) and being that I need to move, I was curious to know what an accelerated program may be like. I've heard stories that they're very time consuming which I was expecting considering its a 16-month program. However, is it an 8am-8pm kind of thing being in classes/clinicals or is it 4 days out of the week or something along those lines. I'm trying to see if I can squeeze serving in there somehow considering I will be funding everything myself. Thanks!

Hi! I am almost halfway though an accelerated program that is 12 months long. I am sure each ABSN program is different but in ours I would say the pace is pretty intense. The first quarter was not bad - only 4 days a week of a combination of class/lab/clinical but the middle part is 2 days a week of class like 8-5 and clinical 3 days a week (these are half days like 7 hours, but some of ours are far enough that it does end up taking almost the whole day). There are definitely people who are able to work part time on the side a day or two a week but I would recommend waiting until you start to make sure you could do both.
