Unsure about taking the NCLEX

Hi. This is my first time posting here. I've been studying for the past month to take the NCLEX but i just don't feel ready. I study Kaplan, medspub.com, plus a review offered by my college. I fell like i'm studying the same information over and over again. But when i go to take practice tests i don't do very well ... my typical scores range from 65 to 70%. If anyone has any advice please let me know. Thanks so much!!

Your scores are not outside of the typical range for many successful NCLEX-RN candidates. This of course is dependent upon the source for your study questions. Kaplan questions are considered to be written at a high degree of difficulty, paralleling higher-level NCLEX-RN questions. Given that the NCLEX-RN is programmed to identify the point at which the candidate is answering (predicted to answer) questions with 50% success (50% correct, 50% incorrect), receiving scores of 65% on Kaplan may indicate NCLEX-RN readiness. Of course this isn't a guarantee.

However you need to make sure that your NCLEX-RN study plan is comprehensive, meaning that you must be sure to cover all the topics that you may encounter on NCLEX-RN. If you are feeling like you are reviewing the same content, your plan may be missing something. The best method is to use a current review text (Saunder's Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN is an excellent resource) to be certain you have gained both the knowledge and test-taking skills necessary for NCLEX-RN success.
