Hello all! I was just wondering if anyone else out there applied for the University fo New Mexico's Family Nurse Practitioner program, starting Summer 2020?! If so, we can share our excitement and agony together!?
Anyone have any information on how competitive the program is, acceptance, and slots?

Hi! I didn’t apply to fnp, but I did apply for the PMHNP at UNM for 2020. For my program the advisor said last year there were about 40 applicants and about 16 accepted (some post masters). I guess it depends on applicants how competitive the program is, but it seems like all the MSN programs have small numbers; only 13 grads for fnp in 2018. My advisor also said most everyone will be asked to interview. I’m dying to find out and know for sure. Good luck!
Hello!! I emailed the FNP advisor and was told, "The program is very competitive and we normally get between 65-90 applications for approximately 20 positions". The class sizes are so small! ? When do you find out about admission?! I think the beginning of Dec for me? Good luck to you too!
Wow! That’s so competitive. My application said December for interviews and notification of admittance.

Yay! I got my email to interview for the program yesterday. I don't know much, except that the first 2 semester maybe with other NP programs. Good luck!
Hello there! I also received the interview invitation yesterday!! Do you know if the interview is like a 50/50 chance, and double checking if you’re fit for their program? Or like you’re basically in, just don’t mess up and say anything stupid during the interview?!? I want to believe it’s the second one?

How are y'all doing it? Full time, brick and mortar classes plus clinicals? Are you taking leave from your nursing jobs and living off savings and school loans?
I looked at UNM Nursing Masters and the only one I can pull off would be the Education one, as it's fully online. Just curious as to how others are making school work with their lives.
Hi all, I finally got my interview! I was so worried. So I was told most everyone would interview and then they would make final decisions. So when I met with the advisor for program she said many of their students work full or part time throughout program. I want to try to work since I will receive tuition reimbursement from my employer. The unit based educator at my work is in a full-time doctorate NP program and has made it work for the last couple years.
Hi all, just wondering if you all have had your interviews and how they went? Mine isn’t until January 17th.
