UNLV Spring 2020

Published

Just wanted to create a thread for those who are applying for the Spring 2020 semester. Does anyone have tips to prepare for nursing school? What's the process like? It is a huge transition? Thanks in advance.

Wishing you the best of luck...keep chipping away at it! This was my 3rd time applying. I applied for Summer 2019 Fall 2019 didn't get Into both. I retook 3 of my classes Chem 108, Biol 223 and 224 to get the As I needed. Don't give up! You got this!! Summer Classes are easier btw.. If you decide to retake them let me know I'll give you advice and notes! Good luck and keep your head up

You guys,

I just got my acceptance email ?

Just wanted everyone to know they've started sending them. Good luck to everyone! If you haven't gotten the email by next Monday, I suggest you call the School of Nursing, because the information session is November 14th.

It is also my second time applying so just wanted to let anyone know if it doesn't come you the first time, I know the feeling and just work hard and pray lots. Good luck guys!

Amen! Prayers are everything!

I think the best way to gain more points is if you retake the hesi and get a higher score (if you haven't already taken it twice). Just 2% higher can earn you almost 1 point. If you retake one of the point classes to try and get a higher grade i recommend starting with chem 108, because if you retake the other point classes you will lose 1 point on the attempt point list due to 2nd enrollment.

Isn’t the rule that you get a point if you got a B or higher on the first try? So you can still get the 1st enrollment points as long as you get a B or higher I think.

According to the calculation worksheet, you get 3 points for getting a B or higher on the 1st attempt, and 2 points if you get a B or higher on the 2nd attempt, so even if you get a B in the course on the 2nd attempt it will only count for 2 points. Except for chem 108, its included in the science GPA but not as an attempt point, that's why i recommend starting there first.

Are you guys doing anything in particular to prepare for the program?

you can still get 3 attempt points as long as you got a B the first attempt and a B or Better in the 2nd attempt. If you get a C or lower it will count as a point lower (2 attempt points) in the 2nd attempt . I took micro 2 times and got a B the first time and a B a second time.. I just couldn't get that grade up so I wasted my time and money...but I still kept my 3 attempt points ...phew.

hey guys are you guys dressing Up tomorrow? Like in professional clothes

For the AnP section its pretty general stuff. I had a lot of questions about joints. I would just study the basics for each organ system, I believe there about 12 organ systems.
