UNLV SON Summer 2014

Is anyone else planning on applying to UNLV SON for the summer 2014 start?

Hi guys!!! I am also applying for summer! I take my HESI on feb 4th and my signing session is feb 7th! So nervous for the HESI! I really hope we all get in and look forward to (hopefully) meeting everyone!

Good luck everyone! Does anyone want to share where they are with points?

Also, did anyone happen to apply to the NSC accelerated program that starts in May. The application was due on January 15th.

Hey Shannon! Good luck to you as well! I only applied for UNLV's program. I have 94.something points. That's with all of my pre reqs completed and a 96 on my HESI. I'm hoping its enough for me to not worry but you never know.

You should be in great shape Elena. I have a 97.94 with 96 on the HESI and all prereqs as well. Fingers and toes crossed for everyone :) Good luck!

Wow that's an incredible score! Well you're in like flynn. If I get in I'm studying with you. Haha

I won't know my final points until my HESI on feb 4th.... Is it pretty easy? I bought both books that UNLV recommended... I have all A's for the calculation sheet and 1 B in a&p 2!!! Did you guys only take the HESI once? I am so nervous, it could make or break me! I am sure that both of you guys are in! The cutoff is normally 90ish points! Great job!

Do you guys know any good websites with practice tests?

It's easier than I thought it would be. If you're an A student you got this. It's basic stuff. Know the heart and conversions. Quizlet helped a lot, mostly for a&p. good luck!

Can someone please help me with my question.. I know that we can only take HESI 2 times however someone told me that we can take HESI 2 times per semester that we r applying for. I'm very confused. I guess what I'm trying to ask is that if you take HESI 2 times in fall while applying for spring semester then can you retake HESI again in spring when you are applying for summer term or are you allowed to take HESI only twice in your entire career while applying to unlv. Sorry I guess I'm very confused about this. Thanks in advance.

I'm almost positive it's only 2 times in your entire career

If we're sharing our scores, I believe I have around a 95. A couple 3-credit B's on my calculation sheet with the rest A's. 95 overall on the HESI-A2. All I can do is pray and hope since it's getting more competitive. Also, that the subsection within reading comprehension that I got

Does anyone know what the signing session entails? I've heard different things from different people. One I've heard is that it's very quick, and that you just give your papers, sign, and go. Another version I've heard was the same, but that the people collecting the papers can be a bit judgmental at times upon receiving applications with low grades. Not that it really matters in the end, but I'm just curious if anyone has any insight on what to expect. :)

I've heard it is pretty quick. You just sit at a table where they run through the admission requirements as well as when callbacks should be expected. Afterwards, they review applications one-on-one. Who cares if they are judgmental, that's their job. I go on Thursday.
