UNLV SON Summer 2014

Published

Is anyone else planning on applying to UNLV SON for the summer 2014 start?

Oh ok Malinka. You're right, it doesn't hurt to try. Do you have any back up options just in case you don't make it in?

I just started looking at different schools I know there is CSN, kaplan, NSC , touro and rosman.. so I'm looking into all of them.. which one are you interested in ??

I am actually in the process of doing Roseman, the advisor there really go me into the program. I take my TEAS exam on Thursday and the advisor said if I at least get a 58% on the TEAS, she will get me into the 3/12 interview session. Kaplan's accreditation is on the edge, since their NCLEX scores haven't been good, so I'm avoiding them and touro's pre-reqs do not match up to UNLVs so you will have to take extra classes, which I wanted to avoid. Roseman might be pricey but their program is good

Then you are all set.. good luck to you :)

Last Signing Session is today and calls should begin later today or Monday morning. By Tuesday we should know everyone who is in the program for summer, who is excited?! lol[/quote'] Hey Brian, did your friend that works in the nursing office say that they were going to begin calls Monday?

Yeah it's normal turn of events for the summer session. Last February/march they completed their calls by their calls by march 5th. My friend said they wrapped up point calculation by the end of the day Friday. So calls should begin Monday the earliest.

I wish your friend would tell us what was the point cut off ;(

She isn't allowed to know, she knows that the points per applicant is down from past semesters, there are a couple of high point totals, but most are in the mid 90s. She thinks the cutoff will be 90 for this summer.

Most are in the mid 90s!!!? Wow that's crazy. Wouldn't that make the cutoff higher than 90 then? Thanks for all the info Brian! Good luck guys!!!! One more day!

my bad, i was typing from my phone and forgot to add "high 80s" lol Most of the point totals are mid 90s to high 80s. The 90 she gave me was a guess, it could be higher or lower.

hey brian! I really hope to see you at roseman! I already took the teas and just need to transfer my UNLV official transcripts over and take a chem 110 (since UNLV didn't have a lab in their chem 108) but she said I would be doing my interview session on the 12! I have been waiting for this!!:)))

Nice!! I take my TEAS thursday. -------------- said if I do decent im at the interview session on the 12th. I got the extra points for my pre-reqs being good. So she said im in good shape
