Unlv nursing program?

Hello there. I am wondering if anyone out there can give me some info on unlvs nursing program. I am currently a student at unlv but I was enrolled in their hospitality management program. But I did not feel like this was the place for me, I absolutely hated it. I have always wanted to be a nurse. My dilemma is this, I have ok grades currently but definitely not a 4.0. I haven't taken many pre-Reqs for nursing though the ones I need to take are below:

math 120

Bio 189

bio 223

Bio 251

chem 108

Stat

Nurs 229

Soc

Epy 303

so as you can see I have quite a few classes I need to take. Will I still have a chance if I get good grades in these classes?

If you make good grades in the pre-requisite courses for nursing, then you most definitely have a shot. Some classes require a B minimum which means that you have to receive 83% or better:

MATH 120/124

BIOL 223, 224, 251

NURS 299

You really want to do your best to get as many As as possible since the program can be competitive. I have applied for the fall 2015 session and there are at least 120+ applicants. They accept only 48. Someone in my CHEM 108 class is retaking it to change her B to an A since it will gain her 2 more points on her application (she missed being accepted into the summer program by 1/2 point).

So do as well as you can on the pre-reqs and definitely do well on the HESI A2 exam. Good luck!
