UNLV NURSING Fall 2021 COHORT

Published

Hello everyone! I created this in order for us UNLV pre-nursing students who are applying for Fall 2021 admission to share HESI A2 exam scores and to ask questions. It would be greatly appreciated if you guys post your HESI scores.

Oh, I got a 95 on the HESI initially.

Does anyone know if the signing sessions will be held virtually or in person?

I just got an email with instructions for my signing session on June 4th! There’s no virtual meeting and no in-person meeting either. You pretty much just send them documents that they attach in the email and that’s it!

Does anyone know what the cutoff score for fall usually is?

Hi Guys! My name is Hailey and I will be applying for FALL 2021 at UNLV. I’m super excited but also so nervous because of how competitive it is.?Here’s what I’m applying with: (all were on my first attempt)

- HESI A2: 96.5%
KIN 223: A

KIN 224: A-

BIO 251: B+
NURS 299: A

CHEM 108: B

MATH 126: B

Rebel recognition: NO

I have a total of 97.29 points. Although it sounds really good, with online classes due to Covid— it’s going to be a competitive semester. Let me know what you think! I was also wondering how soon they let you know you’ve been accepted? Thank you and good luck!?

Hi Hailey! It’s nice to meet you! I believe your score is competitive enough to get accepted! And I totally get it, with how competitive fall semester gets, it makes me nervous. Hopefully all of us get in! I already completed all the forms needed for the signing session and it said we would know our results the first week of July. Historically for the fall semester, point never reached 95 to get in, but every semester can be different. Fingers crossed!

Hi Hailey! That's a great HESI score. I am going to take mine soon. Do you have any tips?

Definitely invest in nursehub! It helped me so much with grammar and math. Focus on ratios and proportions the most. I recommend mathdude if you need help remembering conversions. Nursehub also prepared me more than it needed to for A&P.

I’m really nervous about taking the HESI. I Take it on June 24:(. I wonder if GPA matters when ranking the applicants. I have a GPA of 3.69. and I feel like that’s not safe enough to get in  however I have these grades:

ALL ARE 1st attempt

Rebel recognition: YES

KIN 223 (A-)

KIN 224 (A)

BIOL 251 (B)

CHEM 108 (A)

NURS 299 (A)

MATH 124 (A)

I’m aiming for 96 points in the calculation worksheet for a safe spot. IDK I’m so anxious about this esp my GPA and HESI. I hope there’s not a lot of applicants. I really want to get in with first attempt but I just feel like I won’t do good with my HESI and my grades/GPA won’t be enough. It just feels like I’ll always get my average test score around 89 in my HESI. I hope not. :(((

But anyways…

Goodluck Guysss!

Honestly the HESI wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be! I used NurseHub for practice questions. The applicants are ranked based on GPA for math, Nurs 299, and science courses. It looks like the 6 courses you listed have a 3.76 GPA. I hope we all hear good news! I’m just trying to stay positive, and if I don’t get in on my first attempt, there’s always next time. Good luck on your HESI!

I’m about to take the HESI in a couple of weeks. I’m wondering how much time do we have for each section of the test? total? And in what order of sections did you take your exam? And I heard the math section isn’t all multiple choice. Did you guys have that? if so what kind of questions are they?
