University of Washington (UW) Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) Spring/Fall 2025

Hello! I just wanted to create this for the ABSN Spring/Fall 2025 so we can share stats and decisions! It'll help with anxiety and the waiting game is less dreadful with others 🙂

Hi,

I'm currently finishing my application for the Fall 2025 cohort.

Stats:

Undergrad: University of Washington Seattle 2021 (General Biology)

Undergrad GPA: cumulative around 3.4-3.7 (pending evaluation of foreign transcript); prerequisite GPA is 3.9.

Experience: CNA (more than 2500 hours overall)

Letter or Recommendation: from my Nursing Manager

I am deeply upset that my application may be viewed as incomplete. I attended a university in freshman year in a foreign country 10 years ago (I'm an immigrant). The courses in the transcript doesn't have anything relevant to the prerequisite courses and the 40 credits of postbac requirement. However, all college transcripts may be included in the cumulative GPA which might lower my overall GPA. 

The application states that all foreign transcripts must be evaluated by World Education Services (WES) and submitting only the official transcript is not enough. I paid an extra quick service to gather, verify, and submit my foreign transcript to WES back in August. They notified me on 09/26/2024 that the estimated completion evaluation date would be on 10/23/2024 which is past the October 15 deadline. I am afraid that School of Nursing would not process my application at all because it's incomplete. 

I am so sad that I paid hundreds of dollars to a corporation who is happy to take my money yet they can't uphold their promise. I sent an email to the School of Nursing if they would offer a resolution if I can upload the official transcript and the WES report at a later date. I'll update here if they would allow me. 

It also doesn't make sense that you can submit an ABSN application without a bachelor's degree (at least working on it before the start of the program) and haven't completed all of the prerequisite courses. Yet here I am whose application might be incomplete because of a foreign transcript 10 years ago despite meeting all the requirements at the time of application. 

I wish everyone applying for the Spring and Fall 2025 would have a good outcome. 🙂

Hi! I'm really nervous but it's a waiting game now. I remember last year it was released on 12/17 so I think around that time and definitely before Christmas. Good luck!

I'm nervous for the UWABSN application results. Does anyone know if when does UW PostBacc program confirm admission?

According to UW PostBacc website, the notification period is May + June

I am definitely nervous. I haven't received any email from them since October 15, and it is nerve-racking whenever I see an email notification on my phone from UWSON.

Don't worry! If you're accepted to the UWABSN then you'll get accepted to the UW PostBacc program.

Kinda worried for both UWABSN and PostBacc since I have a foreign transcript.

I also have a foreign transcript (although it doesn't include any ABSN requirements) that still needed a WES evaluation. WES took so long to complete the evaluation that I received the evaluation in a sealed envelope past the October 15 deadline. I have contacted UWSON about it prior to the deadline, and they allowed me to send the evaluation through email. I wish they truly reconsidered it.

That's good if they allowed you to send it through email. I ordered mine beforehand since I have a Bachelor's from a foreign country, and WES usually takes time to evaluate and send the reports.

I hope they do. It was my first time applying for ABSN program and nowhere on the website it says that foreign transcripts need a WES evaluation. I only found out about it when I created an account to start my application. I voiced my frustration to UWSON and that's why they now post a link about WES on the ABSN information front page.
