Is anybody out there applying to the UVI St Thomas ASN program for fall 2010? I live on the west coast and would love to talk to anybody out there that has applied for this program or is currently enrolled. I understand that it is accredited, but how do I know if I will get enough education and experience there? Any responses would be greatly appreciated
Thanks.
Salal,
Thank you for your reply! I am really excited for St. Croix and UVI. I have sumbmitted my application and am in the process of getting all the transcripts sent over.
Was the nursing program difficult to get into? I have emailed and called the nursing department regarding how many applicants vs. how many get in to the program and have yet to get a straight answer. I have emailed Ann-Merrie many times and she does reply but that question never seems to get answered. I dont want to move there and then have to wait another year or so to get in...Did they make you take any more pre-reqs such as the history of the Caribbean class? or any other freshman core classes?
What do you think of the program so far?
Many of the classes that are required in their program, I have already taken as pre-req's for programs here in the Seattle area. This worries me since it leads me to believe that there are parts of other programs that arent included in UVI's...did that make sense? Nutrition, microbiology, and Psych 200 -- I have already taken and am wondering if I will have to take them again not as a pre-req but in their program.
Sorry to be bombarding you with all this! Im just excited to be talking to someone that is there!
Mary

Yes I live in St croix now and I am in the ASN program. I hear it is difficult to find a place that will take pets, but I know people that have them here so it is possible. I moved into the dorms right away, but found a room in a house in my price range within a few days and moved out. I prefer it just because I like cooking my own food ect... I hear it is difficult to find a place if you're not on the island. Anyways let me know if you have any more questions.
