University of Toronto (U of T) Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing NP 2021

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone!

I have applied to the NP Program at U of T Bloomberg for 2021, paediatric specialty. My file currently says "under review" and all my documents are received. I'm wondering if anyone has received an offer of admission yet? How long did it take to hear of a decision once you were under review? Thanks!!

@BBBBB wait..are you saying only 2 people TOTAL in the ENTIRE Nurse Practitioner program???

the OP probably meant from this thread - I did get accepted for the Post Master’s NP and someone for the combined MN-NP thus far.

Got it. I know UBC's class is around 30 and compared to US school's that's TINY so I figured UT was bigger. I can't believe they still haven't released all of the decisions. At this rate school will have started by the time they tell people. Do you know anyone in the program currently? I would be so interested to hear of folks' experiences...

I know someone who is  currently finishing their first year and she's on the MN-NP combined adult emphasis. Do you know anybody? And what stream did you apply for?

I created a group on facebook for people to connect before and during the program "University of Toronto Nurse Practitioner Class of 2023" (I think it's 2023 LOL).

Pretty awful they waited until end of May to send out rejections ?

I agree, pretty awful. That's a long wait for sure. I joined the group by the way!

@minaro MN-NP. They just sent out an email today we won't find out until June 11th. That's nearly 2 months after it was promised. Pretty insane. I don't know anyone in the program since I live in CA and am American and we don't tend to apply to Canadian schools LOL. Would love to hear how people like it!

Wait...they sent this as a general email or to you specifically!?

That's the email I got from K--e. So I guess just me? For me there's the added complication of needing time for to apply for a student visa (I already was granted one by UBC but they don't know that). It's odd to put me at the bottom of the list to make a decision but she told me if I haven't heard yet it's a "good sign"??

Thank you for your application to our NP Program. The Admissions Committee has let me know that they need more time to complete their reviews. We received more applications than ever before and reviews have taken significantly longer than anticipated.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we wrap up reviews. I have scheduled a meeting with the Admissions Committee next week and they have committed to releasing all decisions by Friday, June 11th.

I will be in touch as soon as I have news for you – and that will be by or before June 11th.

All the best,

K***

OK got it! Yes that’s a reply to you LOL and your situation. Interesting to know!

If someone one here has someone in the program currently that would speak with me I'd really appreciate it. IF I get in (which I know is a huge IF), I'm going to have to make moves incredibly fast so I would love to be able to talk to someone in the program about their experience. Feel free to send me a private message. Thanks all!
