Same! I emailed and this was the response I received
"Hello
This year's applicant pool was exceptionally competitive, featuring a remarkable number of highly qualified candidates with extensive backgrounds in critical care.
I understand this news can be disappointing, and I would like to encourage you not to be disheartened. Here are a few suggestions directly from the program's leadership that might help you in preparing for future opportunities:
• Recent ICU Experience: Engagement in high-acuity ICU settings can significantly enhance your application. This experience is invaluable in developing the clinical judgment and skills crucial for a nurse anesthesia program.
• Professional Involvement and Leadership: Active participation in professional organizations and taking on leadership roles within your current position can demonstrate your commitment to the nursing field and your ability to handle increased responsibilities.
• CRNA Shadowing: Seeking opportunities to shadow CRNA's in your organization and beyond is highly encouraged.
• Academic Performance: If applicable, providing an explanation for any grades below a B and detailing the steps you have taken to improve your academic foundation can be beneficial. This shows your commitment to learning and excellence.
• Strong References: References who can attest to your recent work, skills, and professional growth play a critical role in your application. Consider selecting referees who can provide detailed insights into your capabilities and recent contributions.
I encourage you to consider these suggestions as you plan your next steps, and I hope they will assist in strengthening your future applications. Should you wish to reapply for the 2026 fall semester, you will need to submit a new application and application fee.
Thank you once again for your interest in our program. I wish you the best of luck in your ongoing professional endeavors and hope that you will consider applying to our program again in the future.”
