Has anyone heard about the University of St. Francis nursing program? So far I haven't met anyone else that attended their program. I am finishing up my prerequisites and plan to start in Jan. Thanks!

Hi, bookworm! 2 co-workers went to USF (I still say CSF.... )
One graduated, the other dropped out due to health reasons. I think you will like it...but good luck on the parking. THAT is a riot.
Isn't their program a Bachelor's in Health Science, as opposed to a BSN?

That is interesting. It does state BSN on my program. They also offer RN-BSN accelerated program and some Master's. I will look into the Health Science part, never heard of that. The parking I am not so worried about, I have no problem with walking (and I could use the exercise!). What I am worried about is being the only 'adult' in class. When they gave me the tour, all I saw were these fresh young kids! Makes me feel EXTREMELY old! Never too old to learn, I guess... Just will have to show those young kids that older is better;) .

Well, this info. was about 2 years ago, when one co-worker had to drop out d/t health reasons. I would have to ask my other co-worker when I see her next.
As for age? HAHAHA! I was the oldest in my class. Another classmate was a few months younger. All the rest were "kids".
Guess we have more "experience". None of the "youngsters" knew that Kennedy had Addisons Disease.

It's funny to me that you mention being the only "adult" in your class. I lived in the area for a number of years, and never knew anyone who went to USF for a "generic" BSN. All were RN-BSN students who had at least a few years of real-world experience. I just assumed that was the only program they offered. I don't think you will be out of place at all, as an adult student. Good luck!

i graduated from the university of st. francis relatively recently. the nursing program is very different from the rest of the campus. the majority of the students in my class were non-traditional students, and age was never really never a factor for any of us. if you have any specific questions, feel free to pm me.
