Happy new year! I was just wanting to start a new thread for people who will be applying to USF CRNA program this year, 2025! Applications will be opening Feb 15, right around the corner. I still have a few things to complete. Taking Chem and A&P 1 and 2 over again at HCC.. took them 10 yrs ago so having to take again ?Not that A&P has changed much haha. I'll be applying before the priority deadline in Aug. Good luck to everyone applying this year!!

Yes. Exactly what Gamilamb said. They open up the application period and start to interview until the priority application deadline on August 15th. After August 15th is when they send out their first acceptances then it is rolling admissions after that until the final application deadline January 31st, 2025.

Hi there! I used Barrons and the AACN CCRN test bank for the CCRN. I used Gregmat and Prepswift to study for the GRE. It was the best, budget friendly option and was very thorough. I highly recommend!
Hello everyone! Just wanted to get others opinions as I am stressing myself out if I'm a good enough applicant or not.
I have 5 years RN experience. 2.5 of those in a level 2 Neuro/Trauma/SICU. Currently working in outpatient PACU.
GPA 3.6
GRE 292/3.5
CCRN, BLS/ACLS, PALS, TNCC
I am currently still working on my BSN and retaking GRE for better scores in 1.5 months.
Couple of questions:
1. I am registered for a college chemistry course next semester as my Gen Chem taken 8 years ago had a C. Is college chemistry sufficient?
2. I have been applying to get back into an ICU, but do you feel this is necessary?
3. I don't have any charge or committee experience, only preceptor. Charge & committee wasn't an option in my ICU position. My hope is that if I get into an ICU now I will definitely join a committee.
please let me know what you think & good luck to everyone!

Your biggest caveat is your non recent ICU experience. All programs look for recent experience within the last two years or so. So get back into ICU asap.

You definitely have the experience, but I would get back into the ICU as soon as possible since that really is the main criteria for CRNA school. Also, I think precepting is plenty. You don't necessarily have to have the charge experience. It should be fairly easy to join a committee once you get back into the ICU.
College Chemistry is sufficient. I think you may need the lab.
I highly recommend attending their open house next month. It was incredibly helpful.

Thank you for the validation. I did pass my Gen Chem lab with an A so that's why I was thinking if I just take college chem I should be fine. Definitely trying very hard to get back into an ICU, but no luck so far😩
Hey guys!
I just found this thread and I plan on submitting in late May. My stats are:
GPA 3.5
Science 3.8
1.5 years CVICU and 1.5 years MICU
CCRN
Charge/Preceptor
40 hours shadowing
I just finished general chem 1 and I start gen chem 2 in May. I plan on taking this month to study for the GRE.
This might be a long shot but I asked the CRNA who I shadowed for about 20 hours for a LOR back in March. It's almost May, I've reminded her twice about the letter, and she has yet to write it. It was really difficult to get in to shadow her. Does anyone know a CRNA I can shadow in central Florida? I am applying soon and starting to doubt that she will write it for me.

You can also reach out to the state association for help with finding CRNAs to shadow; we also have connections inside the Academy if you're a student with us.
Cheering you on!!
