Hi! I previously took the GRE on a whim last year without studying to get a baseline and received a 293, 3.5. I was planning on retaking before the priority deadline this year but now I am nervous since some interviews have been offered and conducted already. Should I apply now with my lower score or take my chance and apply just before the priority deadline with hopefully a better score? I am a reapplicant.  Cumulative GPA: around a 3.4, Nursing GPA: 3.75. Almost 3 years Neuro ICU at a Level 2 Trauma Center, CCRN, CRRT, ultrasound IVs, participate in unit councils, Preceptor/mentor, other certificates, etc.

I would definitely retake it to improve your application this time around since you're a reapplicant. I feel like it would show them that you're willing to work hard and improve! Did you interview last year? Can you provide any insight on what they told you to improve or how you felt after your interview?

Specializes in Neuro ICU/MICU Trauma Level II, CCRN.

I will retake it thank you both for the advice! I hope my application will at least be reviewed before all the spots are filled, I will still apply before the priority deadline. I have not interviewed anywhere yet.

Specializes in ICU 2 years, step down 1 year.

Applied in April. Did not submit with my CCRN but plan on taking it august 12, and then updating my application before the priority deadline. Do you think there's still a shot for an interview given this information? My stats were pretty good I think. GRE was like 303-304, and GPA is high 3s.
