USC was one of the schools I've applied to, but I'm very dissapointed by them so far.
I've called twice to make sure they've received all the materials, and the lady on the other end was very bored and uncaring. (maybe it's b/c I'm from PA).
The other 4 schools I've applied had a totally enthusiastic and helpful attitude.
I have 4 interviews offered, all before the application deadline.
The fact that the hospital has an Anesthesiology residency did not push it to the top of my list, either.
Good luck
Hey Businessman,
I have been lurking on this board for a couple of years, and I have been following your story of becoming a CRNA.
Sounds like your going to make it. I am still just a wanna be. I am working on finishing my Accelerated BSN. Could you post your stats from your accelerated BSN program, science grades, other things that you think have helped you make it up to bat, etc.
Thanks.

I have applied to USC also. I was not impressed by the fact that the anesthesia admissions person could not figure out how to obtain my GRE scores that have been available to them for over a month according to the Graduate school. Not a good start.

I am currently a SRNA at USC- columbia and they do not have a anesthesia residency program, no competition. It is a great program. Sorry to hear about your troubles with admissions. If you have any questions about the program feel free to email me!
You're right - USC does not have a anesthesiology residency program.
I was thinking of MUSC in Charleston ...
In my case, though, having applied to 4 other schools and having seen all 4 open and communicative, makes USC look not interested.
If I were a dir. of adm., I would be fighting for the best candidates ...
Interveiw letter came today, interview is set for july 17th, good luck to all, jeff
Good luck man.. I am in the program right now and I enjoy it. Every program has its ups and downs. Some in admissions and some elsewhere.
As mentioned, the program has zero residents, so all those great intubations can be yours :).. also this program is very heavy handed on the clinical side ( you are in the OR after your 2nd month)... I am a very hands on person and dont think i could be in other programs where they wait a year to get you in the OR.. You can see a huge difference in the clinical skills of USC students.
To those others who let the secretary of the admissions bother you... you have no idea what is in store for you, better toughin that skin up...
Good luck its worth it....
